Technology can really suck.

It may sound kind of strange seeing as I am posting this on a blog but I am doing so use my stupid laptop.
I call it stupid because it had a virus which screwed everything up. I thought I lost everything but the nice Geek Squad guy at Best Buy found them hidden somewhere. It is a pain to access it so he made a nice shortcut folder to where he found them on my desktop. However I am scared to put anything back into there proper folders but I did back them up on my external hard drive.
So right now my laptop is working but being stupid. I have no idea if it is actually better and really don't want to deal with it. So yes, I kind of really dislike technology right now, or at least my laptop.
Just felt the need to rant a bit.

This is Why I'm an Atheist. Part 2.

In a previous post I wrote about why I'm an Atheist and said if I remembered anything else I would add it in a future post. Since I have, here it goes.

Immaculate conception

I am just going to throw it out there that I find the idea of immaculate conception makes no sense to me. I'm sorry but that anybody can believe somebody got pregnant without having sex makes zero sense. I'm telling you Mary had to have had sex with somebody.
Let me also point out that the definition of immaculate is:

1. having no stain or blemish : pure

2.
 containing no flaw or error

3a : spotlessly clean
3b : having no colored spots or marks <petals immaculate>

While the definition of conception is:

1a (1) : the process of becoming pregnant involving fertilization or implantation or both (2) : embryo, fetus
1b : beginning <joy had the like conception in our eyes — Shakespeare>
2a the capacity, function, or process of forming or understanding ideas or abstractions or their symbols
2b a general idea : concept
2c a complex product of abstract or reflective thinking
2d the sum of a person's ideas and beliefs concerning something
3 the originating of something in the mind
— con·cep·tion·al  adjective
— con·cep·tive  adjective

So if you take the meanings of these two words, Mary's process of becoming pregnancy via fertilization or implantation or both, was flawless. It says nothing about lack of sex in either definition. Not that it says anything about sex either, but the point is, it's all interpretation and the interpretation makes no sense to me. With immaculate they are describing the fertilization of Mary's egg as flawless, clean and blemish free, not sexless. Unless you think sex is dirty, but how else are we to populate the world? Oh wait we aren't. Adam and Eve got in trouble for having sex and doing so.

The Long Awaited Jewish Messiah.

So from this so called sexless conception, came Jesus Christ. Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the long awaited Jewish Messiah, and Jews are still waiting. Here is my question, are they waited for a baby to be born with a "Hello I am The Jewish Messiah" sticker on him or her? How will they know when this person will come?
Is somebody did come and say "I am the long awaited Jewish Messiah" or "I know that the Jewish Messiah is so and so." People would probably think they were crazy. They would probably be sent to the crazy house.

Oh and One More thing (for now at least).
God and Jesus love you, unless...

I know many people have changed their views on Gays, including religious people. There are still people though who do believe being Homosexual, or anything but Heterosexual is wrong. I don't care what people's sexuality is. I believe people can love or marry whoever they want regardless of sex and gender. The idea that people can say God loves everyone, and so does Jesus, but then say that Homosexuality is a sin and hate them for it, well you are a Hypocrite, and I don't like you. Why would anybody want to associate with a bunch of Hypocrites?

Nobody reads this anyway

I write this blog as if there are people out there who read it, but nobody does. It's just me posting things I want to when I remember and not seen by anybody but me.

I get it, why would anybody care?

This is why I’m an Atheist

My lack of religion is in part due to being raised without one. Both my parents were raised Catholic but my Mom, lacking in belief told my Dad that if he wanted to raise my siblings and I Catholic, she would take us to religion class but he would have to take us to church. My Dad said he couldn’t because he worked Sundays. Therefore we were raised Atheist.

I looked into religion, namely Christianity and Catholicism, but frankly, none of it made any sense to me. I like to believe that I made an educated decision to be an Atheist, and here is why:

Adam and Eve/Noah and the Ark

I believe in evolution. Frankly, I believe that anybody who does not believe in evolution does not understand the true meaning of the word. Just look at it here http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/evolution. In my opinion believing in evolution and believing that the human race is due to evolution, are two different things. When it comes to how the human race began, evolution, in that humans evolved from Ape like creatures, makes more sense to me than Adam and Eve.

So God, who apparently is allowed to just be, created Adam, then from his rib created Eve. Then they had sex and got kicked out of Eden. NONE OF THIS MAKES ANY SENSE!!! Why would God create not one but TWO people with the parts and desire to have sex and reproduce if he did not want them to have sex and reproduce? Why would he create a male and female? Why not just sexless human beings? You can argue the point that God did not give them the desire to have sex; you cannot argue the fact that he made them with the parts to have sex and reproduce.

The next part of this story goes that Adam and Eve had two sons, one of which killed the other. So the one that lived had sex with his mother? Oh wait they had another son named Seth, and “other sons and daughters”. Sons and daughters who I believe did not enter the picture till somebody thought better of the original story. So Adam and Eve’s children clearly had sex with each other and populated this Earth and from two of their children (or one of their children and them) came Noah.

Now Noah built an ark and the only humans he took with him were his wife, his sons, and their wives. Now once the flood was over clearly this family re-populated the Earth.

With these theories, we came from not one but TWO round of incest. Something that today is morally wrong. Now why is that an act that was once allowed, that helped create the people of this earth is now a big no-no?

Now to go back to Adam and Eve, did anybody ever think they were Ape like creatures, or is it just me?

Religion as the explanation

I don’t need religion to explain to me why things happen. I know that there once was a time it was needed, but that is no more. Science has explained things like why it rains. As for what is still unexplained, I believe in time science will explain it. Maybe that scientist is just still learning his or hers ABCs.

God as somebody to talk to and look out for us

I don’t believe in God. I don’t believe he is there watching out for us and I don’t need him to be. I do believe if I lived in a time when I was crossing the ocean in a ship or across the country in a covered wagon into the great unknown that I would have felt comfort in somebody above looking out for me. In today’s world I just don’t feel that need for it.

Being good

My mom told me a story that a friend of my when I was younger asked me how I knew the difference between right and wrong and that my answer was “My mom tells me”. It made my mom laugh. It makes me laugh too. My mom, as well as other members of my family, and society tells me what is right, and what is wrong. I did not need religion to tell me it is wrong to kill somebody or steal. I know because of society. I like to believe that I am a good person.

The greatest PSA to be an Atheist I have EVER heard.

Somebody my mom used to work with made a comment that gives me a great reason to be an Atheist. In some discussion of how good my brother, sister and I are, she made a comment that it was because the devil leaves us alone.

According to her, because we don’t believe in God, the devil has no reason to tempt us into being bad. So religious people struggle only because the devil feels the need to tempt them? If they stop believing then will the devil stop tempting them and they will be good? Then why believe in God?

I do believe that about sums it up. If I can remember anything else I will add it in a future post.

Can't think of anything witty, so I'm going with FIRST POST

I'm writing in fuchsia because I can.

I often say I wish I have kept a diary/journal all these years. Something to look back on and learn from my past self. Sadly I never got around to that. I may have started old blogs before this one but never kept up with it. So here I am giving it another go.

If anybody finds and reads this besides my sad self, I will tell you now, I cannot promise that this blog will be grammatically correct. English was not my best subject in school and writing never my strong point. Please do not judge what I write by how I write it. I am just somebody rambling on in a blog and not an author trying to pen her novel.

Oh and for anybody else happening upon this blog, the name is Amanda.

This post is more of a test and starter post as sadly my random thoughts are going to be put on hold while I watch HEARTLAND illegally online. Sorry internet police that I am watching an illegally uploaded television show but it's not my fault Netflix got me hooked on a Canadian series and then fails to have the most recent season available.
